Handyman in Knossos, Archanes and Peza for Roofs, Painting, Carpentry and Home Maintenance
Archanes is one of the best restored villages on Crete, with neoclassical and traditional buildings that owners clearly look after. Keeping a house like that in good shape is an ongoing job: shutters that need sanding and painting, wooden doors that swell in the damp months, plaster that cracks where an old wall has moved, and a flat roof that has to be ready before the winter rains. In Knossos, Skalani and Kounavi I see more family homes from the eighties, where the same small jobs have often been put off for years.
Around Peza, the villas on the slopes bring a different list: pergolas and garden woodwork, outdoor painting after a hot summer, terraces and pool surroundings that need small repairs. Many owners here work in Heraklion during the week or spend part of the year abroad, so they want someone reliable who can deal with these things without them having to be present every time.
What makes my handyman work different is that I am also a Belgian-certified plumber, electrician and HVAC technician. If I find a leaking pipe behind the damp plaster or a loose cable behind a cupboard, I can deal with it on the spot. The drive from Hersonissos is about 35 minutes, so I plan handyman jobs here by appointment and like to group several of them into one day.
