Electrician in Knossos, Archanes and the Peza Wine Villages for Rewiring, Fuse Boxes, Pools and Lighting
A restored house in Archanes can look perfect from the street, with its neoclassical facade and freshly painted shutters, while the electrics inside are still a patchwork. Many of these homes were extended over generations, and every generation added a few cables of its own. The result I often find is a mix of old and newer wiring, surface cables running along wooden ceilings, no earth on half the sockets and a fuse box where nobody remembers which switch does what.
Further out, around Knossos, Skalani and the vineyards of Peza, the work looks different. The family homes from the eighties are reaching the age where their original installation needs a serious check, and the modern villas on the slopes carry heavy loads: a pool pump and filter, a pressure pump for the cistern or well, garden lighting, air conditioning in every room and often a heat pump. All of that needs separate, correctly protected circuits.
Because most of these houses are lived in through the whole year, a weak installation shows itself in winter, when heating runs for hours every evening. I drive from Hersonissos in about 35 minutes. As a Belgian-certified electrician who also works as a plumber and HVAC technician, I can wire a pump, a water heater or a heat pump and also check the side it connects to.
