Plumber in Malia and Potamos: Drains, Leaks, Water Heaters and Old Village Pipework
Plumbing in Malia depends very much on which side of the main road you are. Down by the beach, among the hotels and rows of holiday apartments, pipes and drains work harder than almost anywhere: new guests every week, showers running all day and toilets that get things flushed they were never designed for. Up the hill in the old village, with its narrow lanes and traditional houses, the challenge is age: old galvanised pipes full of limescale, drains that run through thick stone walls and bathrooms added long after the house was built.
Further east, towards the Minoan palace, the newer villas and complexes between the fields have more modern installations, but they still need regular care: water heaters, pumps and outdoor taps that see a lot of use in summer.
My base in Hersonissos is about 10 minutes from Malia, so I am here very often. As a Belgian-certified plumber who is also an electrician, I can repair both the water side and the electrical side of a water heater or pump in one visit, so you never wait for a second tradesman.
